Children’s Farm

Our Children’s Farm

We are developing our two-acre lot into a diverse backyard farmstead featuring chickens, dairy goats, rabbits, vegetable gardens, maple sugaring, berry patch, and a recently planted orchard.

Much of the daily care of land and animals is carried out by, or in partnership with, our children. Through our open farm days, we invite neighbors of all ages to join us in the work, and the joy, of the farm.

These core values guide our work:

  1. Environmental Sustainability– We seek to develop practices that leave the land better off, creatively transforming patterns of waste into cycles of fruitfulness.
  2. Whole Person Development– Working together on the farm is a context for skill development, environmental education, character formation, healthy socialization, and spiritual growth.
  3. Generosity– We best enjoy the produce of the farm when we share it with those who work with us, with our guests, and with those in need.

Farm Visits

We enjoy welcoming guests, whether individuals, families, school or community groups, for farm visits. If you’d like to arrange a field trip, join us for a day of farm work, or just stop by to pet a goat, contact us to set up a time.

Open Farm Days

As special moments arise throughout the year, we host Open Farm Days. Friends of all ages are invited to work with us as we care for the animals and tend the gardens. Develop skills and knowledge, enjoy the outdoors, work alongside friends, and enjoy the farm with us!

To keep up-to-date with open farm opportunities as they arise (often at short notice, since we are often keeping a close eye on growth and weather patterns) follow us on our social media.
